Event Details
The Grumblethorpe Farmstand is a community focused program that addresses the food and nutritional needs of Germantown as well as cultivates life & leadership skills of local youth volunteers and gardeners. The Program involves the cultivation, make ready, and sale operations of produce grown at Grumblethorpe Historic House Museum and Garden as well as supplemental offerings from local growers and community partners.
Our Farmstand offers fresh produce to neighbors and utilizes the pay-what-you-can method. This summer the Grumblethorpe Farmstand will be open to the public at Grumblethorpe along Germantown Ave. on summer Saturdays, June through August.
GRUMBLETHORPE, “JOHN WISTER’S BIG HOUSE,” is a 1744 Colonial German country seat. Its two-acre garden serves as a laboratory for neighborhood schools and provides a source of organic vegetables for its farm stand.
