Have you ever noticed the grove of magnolia trees in RittenhouseTown? The Magnolia Grove contains at least 10 magnolias and at least four varieties. The Grove is marked with a granite stone and memorial plaque dedicated to Jack Fogg Jr. Dr. Fogg, a native Philadelphian, was the director at the Morris Arboretum for 20 years, a professor at University of Pennsylvania, a cofounder of the American Magnolia Society and helped establish the horticulture program at the Barnes Foundation in Merion. The Grove was dedicated in his honor in 1976.
