Home Farm Foodways Workshop: The Past and Present of Flax

In this workshop, co-founder of the PA Flax Project, Heidi Barr, will discuss both the artisanal and mechanical processes of taking flax from seed to fabric and about PA Flax Project’s work to reestablish the industry in Pennsylvania. This hands-on workshop will explore the process of flax from retted straw into golden spinnable fiber destined to become fine linen. Participants will also make and take home a braided flax fiber piece made from the PA Project’s crop.
