Event Details
"An Experienced Cook" will be presented by Mercy Ingraham on Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 am. She will describe her work with a group of historic cooks and their interpretations of the receipts of Mrs. Malinda Russell, who published the first cookbook by an African American in this country in 1866. A light lunch sampling of her receipts will follow the presentation.
About Mercy Ingraham
Mercy Ingraham is one of the founding members of the Historic Foodways Society of the Delaware Valley. She has studied and taught open hearth cooking and historic foodways for the past 30 years, and is now retired.
