Event Details
Beginning in 2026 through 2028, the interpretation and installation will focus on Cliveden between the buildings’ construction from 1763 to 1767, and the Chews’ removal from Philadelphia after the Battle of Germantown in 1779. The new installation will focus on the site’s first period of occupation by the Chew family, people enslaved by the Chews and their laborers, and engage with themes of identity, consumerism, material culture, service and revolution.
