Title – Preserving & Adapting Their World: The Women of Cliveden
Tours of Cliveden’s women’s exhibit, Preserving & Adapting Their World: The Women of Cliveden, return as part of Mt. Airy Learning Tree’s winter class catalog! These tours will be offered on Wednesday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 26th from 10am to 12pm and led by Cliveden’s Education Director Carolyn Wallace. The class fee is $25 and advanced registration through MALT’s website is required. All participants are required to bring either their vaccination card or a picture of their vaccination card and to wear masks as this is an indoor class. We look forward to seeing you here!

Cliveden
A site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and a proud member of Historic Germantown, Cliveden opened to the public in 1972. Built in 1763-1767, Cliveden was home to seven generations of the Chew family and the men and women who worked for them, was the site of the Battle of Germantown in October 1777, and is an important example of Philadelphia Georgian architecture. Cliveden focuses on telling the multiple narratives of the property by interpreting the buildings and grounds; giving a voice to the men and women—black, white, free, enslaved, and indentured—who played a role in the Cliveden story.
