Event Details

Ensemble Novo is the brainchild of Tom Moon, best-selling author & former Philadelphia Inquirer music critic who currently contributes to NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Inspired by the music of Brazil, the group creates a spacious, welcoming sound.”

This concert series was originally conceived of as a live-stream only series initiated by Barry Wahrhaftig of the Hot Club of Philadelphia. The goal was to help musicians and non-players impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown. Moving the series to Awbury Arboretum allows the artists to play for live audiences. A portion of each show’s proceeds is sent to local charities, including Philabundance and Jazz Bridge so far.

At the tented patio behind the Francis Cope House
