Event Details

While grocery store bouquets offer convenience, their hidden environmental and social costs are significant.

Shifting our support to local flower economies promotes ecological health, strengthens community wealth, and preserves regional floral diversity.

Join Wyck and instructor Courtney Jewell, owner of Jewells in Bloom, to discover why you should skip the supermarket flowers and how to easily source vibrant, seasonally appropriate local blooms wherever you are.

About the Instructor:

Courtney Jewell, owner of Jewells in Bloom, is a Philadelphia-based urban flower farmer who blends her artistic flair with a passion for growing flowers to create high quality, artfully touched bouquets. Now in her 8th season of flower farming, Courtney is cultivating flowers across 3 different locations. She is also extremely dedicated to educating her community about local flowers and finds great joy in supplying her neighbors with fresh seasonal blooms.

Jewells in Bloom flowers are available through their flower CSA, Porchstand (just a fancy name for a farm stand on her front porch), The Philly Floral Guild and various markets.
