Peculiar Relationships is a fictional, semi-autobiographical novel based on the evolving relationships and interactions between black and white women from slavery to current day.

A series of first-person narratives describe how shared gender, close-proximity and positions of power (or lack thereof) led these particular females to form strong bonds and/or experience terrifying encounters. This thought-provoking book reveals how black and white females deal with their respective insecurities, sexuality, self-esteem as well as a shared feeling of powerlessness in a male dominated society. It further exposes how black empowerment and white privilege affect and shape their behaviors today.
